Memorial Weekend || Bike the Bricks & Mainstay Farm

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Thanks for all the emails, texts, and Facebook messages concerning my family and hometown after this devastating flood. I really appreciate it!

This long weekend was just what was needed. Chris and I didn't have any grand plans due to the foretasted rain everyday

Friday night we went to our town's square for the Bike the Bricks race. It had been pouring rain all day which ended up being a blessing because the event wasn't near as crowded as predicted. My favorite food truck was supposed to be there, but they didn't show up because of the rain, so we opted for our favorite restaurant instead. It was cool out so we sat on the patio and watched the race. Neither of us are really into biking, but it was such a fun date night!

Saturday morning we got up and headed to the Ft. Worth area to go to Chris's dad's company picnic. It was held at a place called Mainstay Farm. They have tons of fun activities for kids and adults of all ages. We didn't let the rain bother us. We came home muddy and sweaty, but we had a great time!

On our way home it was rainy and we were both so tired, but we decided to go see Pitch Perfect 2. It was good, but we both loved the first one more.

Sunday we were beat and so we watched church on the computer screen. The rest of the day we cleaned up the house. Chris mowed and I did my usual billion loads of laundry.

We rewarded ourselves with Mooyah. Seriously, they fry portions are out of this world!

Monday we continued to do things around the house. We went grocery shopping and then met up with Chris's parents for lunch to get back his wallet that he had left in their car on Saturday. Severe weather was headed our way, so after lunch we headed back to the house to take cover for the rest of the day.

We only have 8.5 days of school left, but so much left to do!! Counting down the days until summer!

Happy Tuesday!
