WIWW: Scooter Style + Link Up

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

Obviously these pictures were taken when we were in San Francisco. I haven't been able to wear pants here in Texas since March! I wore this to the Giants game and it was perfect. It was warm at the beginning of the game, but freezing towards the end.

Chris saw this scooter as we were walking around the neighborhood and suggested I take my picture by it. Like we don't have scooters here in Texas?! I thought it was so silly at the time, but I actually love how the pictures turned out! And aren't the houses in the background gorgeous?

Randoms:

- One of my best friends came over yesterday and it made my heart so happy! I love spending time with my best friends. It is good for the soul!

- Texas is too hot. I was sweating bullets just pulling out of my driveway yesterday.

- My projects left for the rest of the summer include painting our front door, finish staining some side tables for our bedroom, redo our kitchen cabinets, price out kitchen counters and a back-splash, and possibly change the red wall in our living room.

- My Dad and brother are coming to stay with us for a couple days and I am so excited to see them! They are coming here to work, but we will have the whole weekend together!

- Ladies of London is my new favorite show. It is hilarious, yet not as over the top as some of the Real Housewives.

Now for the link up!

- All I ask is you link back to my blog and link to a specific post.

House Tour: Outside Update + I need your input!

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

I spy something newish...can anyone guess? It is glossy and shiny and it used to be brass...

Does this hint help?

You guessed it! I finally got around to updating our outside lighting. All I did was clean and spray paint our old lanterns and it gave the front of the house a whole new look!

BEFORE:

 AFTER:

And if you didn't notice, we also removed those gigantic round bushes that were on either side of the garage. I hated them! They always scratched the car as we would pull into the garage and they were just not pretty. We planted new flowers and mulched everything. We are planning on tackling the large flower bed, but we know that is going to be a huge project, so we are holding off for just a bit. I can't stand all those bushes. I need some color!

Now I need some input. I am going to paint our front door because it just looks dingy. I am thinking black, but does anyone else have any suggestions? Our HOA won't let us do anything crazy, so please keep your suggestions reasonable! And buying a new door isn't what I care to spend money on at the moment! Our door works fine...it's just ugly!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

The Fourth

Mawmaw always has a freezer full of the good stuff!

Nothing too exciting here to report. Friday morning we headed down to Beaumont to Chris's Mawmaw's house. If you have never heard of Beaumont, that's probably a good thing. It is the smelliest and most mosquito infested city in Texas...or at least to Chris and I it is. I would take the dogs out to go to the bathroom and literally be swatting mosquitoes on my legs the entire time I was outside. I set at record of killing 12 on my legs within a four minute period. It's gross.

Chris parents have been updating his grandma's townhouse, so my weekend was filled with staining cabinets {just like I did to our bathroom last week!} and painting. I would tell you what else we did, but that was about the extent of it! I guess we got some cuddles in with the pups, but that is nothing new.

Hope you dipped your toe in a pool for me! I am determined to make it to the pool this week. I am pool-deprived and knowing everyone was swimming it up while I was staining tore at my heart just a little!

Happy Monday!
