House Tour || Master Bedroom {Update}

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

When we were deciding on new floors, we knew we wanted them to extend into our bedroom. Wrigley and Bailey aren't allowed in our room except to sleep (on the floor), but we just knew we wanted to get rid of the existing carpet.

Once we got all the furniture out we decided to rearrange and put our bed on the opposite wall. In my opinion, it makes the room so much bigger. You can see our room before here. We have the same exact rug in here are we do in our living room

I added greenery to our $9 DIY wooden wall art and for now it is staying on the same wall. We are planning on getting a king size bed soon, so depending on the headboard we choose, I'm not sure what we will hang over our bed. Also, a new bed means new sheets, quilts, duvet, etc., so who knows the direction this room could go!

Ralph Lauren || Bedside Lamps

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

I've wanted new bedside for awhile now. Our old ones (seen here) were an impulse purchase and never really were our style.

For Christmas my Mom and Dad said they would buy us new lamps. When I found these Ralph Lauren beauties, there was no looking back. To me, they are timeless, and pieces that we will have forever. I wanted something with a clear base and a white shade.

Within the next couple weeks we are doing a major home improvement project and I've already got plans on how this room will change, once again, so stay tuned!

Headboard DIY tutorial HERE...it cost less than $50!
We've been in our house almost four months now and I have yet to do a whole lot to our bedroom. Why is it that we neglect our bedrooms and put them last on the 'rooms to finish' list?

One thing I have done is refinish and stain our bedside tables. I'll do a separate post on those babies, but, believe me, they were awful. Even I was really surprised at how great they turned out. We haven't got pulls for my side table and one of Chris's knobs needs to be replaced. It is on the list...

My plans for this room involve:

- Getting new carpet. The dogs have ruined it. Yuck!
- Do something over the bed because a giant blank wall isn't the style I am going for.
- Get new bedside lamps.
- Find a rug.
- Reupholster the bench at the end of our bed.
- Stain our dressers.
- Attach the mirror that goes over my dresser.
- Possibly switch the layout of the room by basically flipping the bed to the opposite wall.

And just because I like to keep it real in these parts of the internet land, this is what the other side of the room looked like while I was taking pictures. You're welcome.

Have a great Thursday!!

Master Bedroom Update

Monday, December 10, 2012

Last time I told y'all about our bedroom...I believe we were screaming and yelling and pulling our hair out painting. We still have a long ways to go (hence I only photographed half of our bedroom), but we are making progress.

Our DIY Sunburst Mirror proudly hangs above our bed. Best $5 ever spent.

"LOVE" these letters :) You can read all about them here.

Does this look like a $50 headboard to you? {If the answer is yes, then don't answer  :)} I am totally smitten with our DIY Headboard the hubs and I made.

Our friend Tim did an awesome job on our lamps! I finally found lampshades that I was pleased with. It only took 12 purchases and returns, but these gray beauties won out.

The texture from this rug is so soft and cozy. And for $9.99 from Ikea, I couldn't say no :)

One day the night stands will be replaced...until then, they get stripes.

LOVE this pillow we got as a wedding gift. Thanks Miss Gayle!

Plans for the master:
- get rid of old recliner and replace with pretty white chair
- get a rug for under chair
- wall decor for sitting area
- refinish dressers
- wall decor for TV wall

As we cross items off this list I will update you! It has been a long process, but a house doesn't turn into a home overnight :)
