Y'all, Old Navy is killing it. I hadn't shopped at Old Navy for years until I realized that I could use the points from our Banana Republic credit card there. So, for the last year I have got just about everything from Old Navy and have hardly paid a dime for any of it.

I always want to be honest and not let y'all think that I am just a crazy spender. After my year of no shopping, it is hard for me to pay for anything I don't need! Now, that's a different story when I have points to spend!

Since we are over here in Texas building our arks, I haven't been able to get outside and take pictures, so I thought I'd share with you some things I've picked up recently.

- This bathing suit top and bottom is perfection. I think I am out of the string bikini phase, so I am liking the more "grown up" two-pieces. I also got this top that I can mix and match with bottoms I already have. When I showed Chris he said, "Ooooo, sporty!" He knows me so well.

- This cover-up was one of those pieces I knew I'd try on and not like. Wrong. It is so stinkin' cute! I wish they would make it into a dress. Our cruise is seven days long and I know I'm going to get great use out of this thing because you can bet I'm not walking around anywhere without a cover-up on.

- I got these sandals to walk around Atlantis. I wanted a shoe that could get wet that wasn't a flip-flop because I always get blisters. These are actually really comfy and I can't wait to pair them with my cover-up!

- DON'T FORGET about Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale still going on! I am asking for this for an anniversary present and these shoes wouldn't hurt either.

Lastly, don't forget about your FREE month of Rocksbox with the code tuckerupxoxo. The code never expires!

Memorial Weekend || Bike the Bricks & Mainstay Farm

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Thanks for all the emails, texts, and Facebook messages concerning my family and hometown after this devastating flood. I really appreciate it!

This long weekend was just what was needed. Chris and I didn't have any grand plans due to the foretasted rain everyday

Friday night we went to our town's square for the Bike the Bricks race. It had been pouring rain all day which ended up being a blessing because the event wasn't near as crowded as predicted. My favorite food truck was supposed to be there, but they didn't show up because of the rain, so we opted for our favorite restaurant instead. It was cool out so we sat on the patio and watched the race. Neither of us are really into biking, but it was such a fun date night!

Saturday morning we got up and headed to the Ft. Worth area to go to Chris's dad's company picnic. It was held at a place called Mainstay Farm. They have tons of fun activities for kids and adults of all ages. We didn't let the rain bother us. We came home muddy and sweaty, but we had a great time!

On our way home it was rainy and we were both so tired, but we decided to go see Pitch Perfect 2. It was good, but we both loved the first one more.

Sunday we were beat and so we watched church on the computer screen. The rest of the day we cleaned up the house. Chris mowed and I did my usual billion loads of laundry.

We rewarded ourselves with Mooyah. Seriously, they fry portions are out of this world!

Monday we continued to do things around the house. We went grocery shopping and then met up with Chris's parents for lunch to get back his wallet that he had left in their car on Saturday. Severe weather was headed our way, so after lunch we headed back to the house to take cover for the rest of the day.

We only have 8.5 days of school left, but so much left to do!! Counting down the days until summer!

Happy Tuesday!

Please Pray for my Hometown

Monday, May 25, 2015

If you live in Texas then you are aware of the amount of rain we have received. On Saturday my hometown, Blanco, fell victim to the worst flooding we have seen in over 50 years. They are calling it the Historic Blanco River Food of 2015.

You can click here and see all the damage it has done. The river rose to over 40 feet in a matter of hours Saturday evening and what is left is heartbreaking. The National Guard was called in to help and the Red Cross is there as well.

Thankfully, everyone in my town is physically okay. Homes are gone, bridges are broken, and personal items are lost, but everyone is coming together to help one another out. It saddens me to have to watch it from far away, but the constant updates from family and Facebook have had me glued to the computer all weekend.

My Dad is traveling for work, so he was out of town and my brother was at his apartment in San Marcos when all of this was happening. My brother started texting me Saturday night about how bad the flooding was. I hadn't had much of a clue until then...and the pictures were shocking. My brother ended up having to evacuate his apartment at 2:00am due to flash flooding. (picture below of his apartment)

My mom was stranded at our house Saturday night with no power which had me worrying. My aunt, uncle, and cousin (and her family) live right down the hill from us, but they, except for my uncle, were stranded in Austin. Everyone was out of power, but my mom and uncle managed to make mac and cheese and guacamole. They were in good spirits, but I think everyone was a little shook up when the sun came up and they were able to see the damage that was done.

My aunt, cousin, and the rest of the family were able to make it home from Austin Sunday morning, but the power didn't come on until Monday night. Baths in the pool and lots of stove-cooked meals were what had to be done.

I just talked to my Mom and she was in good spirits, but exhausted. They all haven't slept in days because of the a/c not being on and the storms being so loud. I don't think the damage has set in for anyone yet and it is going to take a long time to rebuild our little town. Routes that people have traveled for decades are now going to be shut down for months to rebuild. Homes that generations of families have lived in are now washed away. A park and dam I used to jump off of daily every summer is torn to shreds. It is so, so sad.

As we speak it is still raining there and they are worrying that the flash floods could happen again. They are predicted to have rain all week and that makes it difficult for the power crews to get power restored to the almost 3,000 people without electricity.

I ask that your thoughts and prayers be with my hometown, Blanco, and the surrounding towns. There are some people who are missing and I know their families could use our prayers.

Below are pictures I grabbed from Facebook.

The bridge seen below is the bridge my family, as well as hundreds of others, use to get into town everyday. The only other way around takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

The water got up was passed that grey house. That house is at an RV park and all the campers got washed away.

This camper is about 150 yards from where the river is supposed to be.

Below is another low water crossing that we have to use to get to my house. The house on the other side over there to the left was completely damaged.

This tuck is about 100 yards from the river bank.

This is an aerial shot of the debris left on a bridge in Wimberley.

This is a picture of my brother's apartment complex in San Marcos. Luckily he lives on a higher floor and was able to get out before all of the water rushed through.

This is the patio of a restaurant in our town. The river is right on the other side of those bushes in the background. There is a the park road that goes between that tree and the patio.

And this is how it looked Saturday...

That yellowish wall in the far left of the picture is where the patio to the restaurant is.

This is a shot on the bridge crossing over the river. The restaurant and cottages are to the right.

So, as you can see, there will be a lot of cleanup, but I know God doesn't put anyone through anything they can't handle.

If you would, just please keep them in your prayers and, although we are so gracious for all this rain, please pray that maybe it would stop for a couple days.

Thank you!

New Clock || Living Room

Thursday, May 21, 2015

I know. I change my mantel like I change my undies. Everyday.

Okay, not that often, but I haven't been able to find my mantel sweet spot until now.

This clock. Oh my. Gimme all the heart eyes. Even Chris is googly at it. It is perfect. And cheap! We got it at At Home for $70! Right when we hung it we were smitten.

My plans for the rest of the living room are to save up our spare change and get a large tv console like this. I also want new curtains that are lighter in color. I am hoping to swap the curtains this summer and possibly find a console that I can refinish for a cheaper price. We shall see! A new coffee table is also on the list as well as, possibly, a new paint color. I really want to go with a light grey, but I am not willing to repaint, so I'm sure the paint won't be changing anytime soon.

When all that is said and done I think we will be able to call this room finished, but knowing me, it will never be done.

PS: Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale is going on now! This shirt is simply perfect and this watch is 45% off!

Happy Thursday!

WIWW: Rocksbox + A Free Month For You! + Link Up

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

I have never been one to wear a lot of jewelry. I have my daily rings and my go-to earrings, but everything is pretty simple.

I am also cheap and refuse to spend a lot on jewelry when I know I always end up wearing my old faithfuls. That leads me to Rocksbox.

With Rocksbox I can get designer (hello, gorjana and Kendra!!) jewelry of my choosing sent straight to my door. For $19 a month you can borrow three pieces at a time and wear them, buy them, or swap them out at anytime for three new goodies!

This subscription is perfect for someone like me who likes the trendy pieces, but can't stand the thought of paying for jewelry when I know I might not like the piece in a couple months, or wear it that often!

With the code tuckerupxoxo YOU can get one month free of Rocksbox and try it out yourself! What do you have to lose?! The code does not expire, so when you decide you're ready, just come back here and get in on the fun!

Now for the link up!

What's in my bag || The truth

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

I love seeing what other people have in their bags. Sometimes I think, "Who the heck thinks they need to have (fill in the blank) in their purse?!" while other times I think, "I need to carry one of those (fill in the blank) with me." Either way, it is always interesting to see what is behind the walls of a purse.

If you're my husband, you call my purse "the black hole" and if you were my purse, you would hate me. My purse is synonymous with: Sarah's trashcan, Sarah's place for everything, Sarah's suitcase, etc.

So, because I'm not good at faking anything, I'll just be real and show you exactly what's in my purse. Sometimes I think it is a relief to know that someone else in the world had 87 receipts, four wads of chewed gum in the wrapper, and a billion other random things in their purse....and they don't even have kids yet. Yikes.

Starting on the far left with the long silver pen looking thing, also know as a tire pressure gauge. Chris just said, "I don't know why you have that in your purse and not in your car..." I agree. I have no idea why it is in my purse.

Moving clockwise, that is my stack of receipts. Every time we go somewhere and get a receipt I just shove it in my purse.

I won't name everything, but you can see (still going clockwise) that I have two journals, a pink notepad, and pink and white striped note-cards...because I like to write a lot? No clue. I have the brochure from my dermatologist appointment and my blog business cards. As you look right we have trash and extra napkins, as well as floss and box-tops because, you know, I have to help my school!

Scattered in there you can spot my passport picture (or my mug shot, you'll never know...totally kidding!), lotion, a pack of gum and an empty pack of gum, my wallet, pens, a nail file, toothpicks (because floss doesn't cut it?), hair-ties, medicine, a mirror, church notes, mints, gift cards, chap-stick, and, finally, business cards from random people.

Now, please make me feel better and tell me your bag looks the same? Or at least lie to me so I have help convincing my husband I'm not the only woman with a purse like this!

A Blogger Meetup

Monday, May 18, 2015

Blogging is weird because you know a lot of people who you really don't know. Does that make sense? I've read Sarah's blog for years now and she was in town this weekend, so we finally got to meet in person. We went to brunch on Saturday with our husbands and it was just as great as I imagined!! If Sarah and I lived in the same town I'm sure we would be the best of friends! Chris and I are already looking up flight to Cincy so we can go visit them (and Floyd!) and watch a Reds game.

Backing it up to Friday night when we ordered Domino's and then went on a Sonic date for ice cream. I have no idea how it started, but every time we go to Sonic we call it a "Sonic date." Half price shakes after 8 p.m. meant one thing: we were already in our pj's, hence the yawning and me look quite rough.

Hopping back to Saturday...

Chris and I stopped at At Home on our way back from brunch with Sarah. We had herd great things about this store and it lived up to our expectations. We went in for one thing, and left with that certain thing that I hope to reveal later this week! And, of course, Chris had to act his age as he walked through the isles.

The rest of the weekend was spent shopping and doing yard work. We have strawberries! We planted them about a month ago and this was our third one to pick and eat.

Sunday started off with church and then a grocery trip. We cleaned and then were lazy until we invited Chris's family over for BBQ.

Monday is here and we are so close to summer I can taste it!
