Sorry I have been MIA this week. Chris and I are headed to Connecticut this weekend (on a private jet...eeek!), so I have been scrambling everyday this week to unpack as many boxes as possible! We have some curtains hung, some decorations up, but lots left to do!
But, without further adieu, here is our new home. It was built in 2002 and needs a lot of TLC, but we can't wait to make it our own! The bonus: a corner lot!
As you can see, the previous owners have already started the updating process. The kitchen has so much room for activity and Chris is already loving that "man cave." And did I mention our commutes to work are unbelievable? Mine went from two hours round trip to 40 minutes round trip. Chris's went from two hours round trip to about 20-30 minutes round trip. We are definitely loving the extra time at home!
A few updates we have in mind:
- Kitchen updates. Stain cabinets, granite counter-tops, new island, stainless steel appliances.
- New floors. I love the coziness of carpet, but let's be honest...Wrigley and Bailey rule the roost and they leave evidence everywhere they go.
- Rock (limestone) around the fireplace.
- Update guest bathroom and finish updating the master bath.
- Build a cover over the back patio.
Well, there ya have it! Hopefully next week I can snap some current shots of the house. I can't wait to start getting our hands dirty with some updates!
Happy Friday!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Maggie! We are sure enjoying it :)
Deletehaha! I too thought, what?! Is that their pregnancy announcement? But then saw at the end that all photos were used to sell the house and that it was before you moved in, haha.
ReplyDeleteWOW it truly is gorgeous and nice, big and spacious especially the living room/kitchen/dining room area. I also love all the natural lightning and it doesn't look (to me) like it needs many updates. That master bedroom/bathroom looks big and cozy too. Good luck with everything and I am looking forward to seeing all the changes and making this house - your home!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you & Chris.
Ada. =)

Congratulations! You finally found the house you’re looking for. And I must say, it’s quite a catch, because the property looks amazing. You have plenty of space for all your needs, and most importantly, it is very close to your workplaces. You’ve definitely found one that has everything that you need. Enjoy!

What a beautiful new home you have. We recently bought our first home through a company who build houses to your specific requirements. I never thought I would own my own home, but here I am! I hope your new home brings you much happiness, it's stunning. Plus you have all the benefits of a corner lot!

I can tell you that if you want the best experience with your realtor you have to be prepared to do some of the work yourself. The real estate agent is not allowed to talk about certain things any longer, so if you have a problem with types of neighbors or school issues, go online and get the answers for yourself.
