Let's Talk Baby Monitors

Sunday, October 30, 2016

One of the first things I knew I wanted for Graham's nursery was a video monitor, so I started reading about the top video baby monitors. Video monitors allow parents to peek on their little babes and see what they're up to; aka stare at them while they sleep. I can't imagine how our parents did it without video monitors. I guess they got a lot more sleep, ha!!

When researching about baby monitors I read this article and consulted some of my other mommy friends. I knew my friend loved her monitor for her twins, so I got her advice on what the pros and cons were.

Another thing I had read about in this article left me feeling a little hesitant about the wifi enabled monitors. The safety of our little Graham is my number one priority, so we came to the conclusion that we did not want a monitor that connected to wifi.

Ultimately we went with the Summer Infant baby monitor and have been very happy with it. The screen is really big, which is my most favorite thing about it. Mounting it was super easy and we take it with us everywhere we go. It easily comes off the wall and we are able to set it up on vacation or at either of our parent's houses.

Knowing that I can peek on our little guy at any moment eases my mommy anxiety a ton. Even though hearing all his babbles and coos can keep us up at 3:00am, I wouldn't trade the feeling of knowing he is safe for anything.

6 Month Favorites

Friday, October 28, 2016

We are SIX (almost SEVEN!) months into this whole parenting thing and with each month comes new favorites. All of these items are what we use on a daily basis, and I can't rave enough about each one.

Pacifiers - It wasn't until Graham was about 4-5 months old that he started liking a pacifier. We bought every kind imaginable and he likes the Tommee Tippee ones best. We use the same brand bottles, so I'm not surprised. He used to only take a paci when he was sleepy, but now that he is starting to want to chew on everything, we clip it to him and he chews/sucks on it all day. I love how he is able to take it in and out of his mouth as he pleases. He is a talker, so he definitely doesn't have it in all the time!

Sophie La Girafe - She travels everywhere with us. Not only is she a favorite, but so is anything else G can get his hands on. He is definitely in the put everything in my mouth phase.

Baby Bjorn Bibs - I cannot rave enough about these (or any wipable bib)! We started out with cloth bibs during feeding time and quickly realized washing bibs every night was not our chore of choice. These bibs make after dinner cleanup so easy!

Pacifier Clips - Need I explain these? The fact that your child's paci isn't flying through the air at any random moment is a parent win. Plus, these are just so cute!

OXO Tot Sprout Chair - Chris and I both LOVE this highchair. Not only do we love the look, but cleanup is SO easy. There are no weird crevices for food to wiggle into. The cushion is removable if food does find it's way under there, but so far, so good!

Baby Bandana Drool Bibs - If you follow me on instagram (@sarahtuckerup) then you know I'm obsessed with these bandana bibs. Bibs are synonymous with bows for girls. He literally has a bib for every outfit.

Alphabet Tiles - With wood floors and the copious amounts of drool that flow out of my child, we needed something soft, yet wipable. This mat has been a life saver! If G spits up or drools, it is easy to clean. And, it is HUGE! We don't even have it all asembled and we still have a big area for him to play.

WIWW: Olive and Black + Link Up

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

hat // vest // top // pants (under $50!) // booties // earrings // cuff
I am all about this olive color lately. I've been eyeing this vest (on sale!) to add to my green collection.

We are in that season where you're freezing in the morning and sweating by lunch, so I've been trying to dress fallish without dying of a heat stroke.

I wore this last weekend when I photographed Chris's best friend getting engaged! I literally was the creeper in the park hiding out by a trash can with a camera. It all turned out perfect and that's all that mattered!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Things

Monday, October 24, 2016

1. Everyone's Monday should start off with pictures of my squinty eyed G baby! And we can't forget Neilee. G wasn't having any of her girl drama, hahah!

2. I ordered these leggings and I'm dying for them to come in. I almost just drove the 12 minutes to Nordstrom, but then Chris would know I was shopping, so I opted for the online route, haha!

3. Agendas and planners. Getting organized always feels so good!

4. Candles! They're so perfect for gift giving and these ones are so darn cute!

5. When some of the best booties are on major sale, that makes me very, very happy.

6. Chris, if you're reading, a personalized necklace would make a great Christmas gift :) I think you could guess what initial I'd like...

7. Umbrellas are so practical and these would make the perfect Christmas gift for that girl who has everything!

8. Everyone can always use a stash of thank you cards. They are a necessity and these are perfection.

9. How can it almost be November?! The thought of stuffing my face at Thanksgiving makes me happy.

10. Cooler weather! Texas was perfect this weekend and I sure hope these cooler temps are here to stay!

Happy Monday, friends! Thank you all for the prayers for my family. We really appreciate it!

Life Update: Where I've Been

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the unintentional absence. If I'm being honest, something very traumatic happened to my family last week and every time I've thought about writing, I felt like I couldn't formulate anything happy to say. Not that I want to be a Debby-downer, but I try to keep this space of mine happy and positive, and it just felt wrong to fake a bunch of happy posts when my family and I were hurting inside.

All of that to say my family is okay! Specifically, if you could pray for my Dad we would really appreciate it. I would love to update y'all on what is going on, but the time is not right at this moment.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a picture of the happiest baby on the planet!

Recent Favorites: Shopbop Sale!!

Thursday, October 13, 2016

Shopbop is having a HUGE sale! Now is the perfect time to grab those big ticket items you've been wanting, or start Christmas shopping!

There are no better clothes than fall clothes. The colors, the textures...everything is perfection. We are still waiting on the Texas temperature to realize that it is fall, but this girl can't help and stock up for when it actually does decide to cool off.

Open toe booties are a perfect transition piece. They are still cool enough to wear in the heat, but don't come off as summery.

Fall is also the perfect time to pull out your fall purse. I tend to carry larger bags in the fall because I'm usually stuffing a scarf or hat inside. Totes are perfect for hoarding winter items.

And, of course, we can't forget about early Christmas shopping!

From adorable watches to stuff for the home, there are tons of gifts for everyone on your list!

Happy shopping!

Graham || 6 Months

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Y'all, I can. not. even. with these pictures! We took G out in the backyard early Saturday morning to take his 6 month pictures, on his actual 6 month birthday, and I couldn't believe how perfect they turned out! He is seriously the happiest kid ever.

Weight: 19.5lb (84%)

Height: 27in. (67%)

Clothes: 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Food loves: sweet potatoes, pears, and carrots.

Food hates: green beans and squash

New stuff: Anything and everything goes in his mouth! He is also super vocal. If you follow me on instagram (@sarahtuckerup), you have seen our boy in action!

He loves sleeping on his tummy, is completely out of any sort of sleep sack, loves pulling anything he can over his face when he sleeps (insert mom heart attack here), and he is now the best napper!

Daycare has got him on such a great routine. He is so predictable and that makes life with him so easy. He goes to bed at 7pm and gets up once to eat between 4-5am and then is back down until I get him up around 6:30am.

I'd have to say this stage is just fun. He is honestly so happy all the time. You can play with him and we can go out with him and know he will just be so darn happy. He loves stroller rides and smiles at anyone at anytime.

G baby,

Life with you just keeps getting better and better. Your dad and I talk daily about how perfect you are and we are so scared what our other kids will be like because you're just so darn good.

You have come to love schedules and love getting your sleep. Your teachers say you haven't met a food or bottle you didn't love. On your daily report you always get "happy" and "busy" circled. I can already tell you're going to be a thinker.

You're blonde hair throws your dad and I off, although you look just like me when I was a baby....except for those precious squinty eyes. Those are ALL daddy!! I'm literally laughing right now because they are SO squinty. And you smile so much that they're squinty all the time!

Today with you was just the best. Even after your shots, you were such a joy. You and I cuddled and we played. You blew out your diaper after I gave you prunes and I used 769 wipes to clean you up.

Graham Ray, you are just the best stinkin' thing that has ever happened to your dad and I and we absolutely are wrapped around every one of your little pudgy fingers.

I love you, G baby.

You momma.
