A Miracle of a Weekend

My weekend was filled with all things boy. From eating to multiple sports competitions, we did it all. My brother and dad have been staying with us since Thursday. They are in town for work and it has made my heart so happy having them here (we miss you mom!).

I have to start by showing y'all this video. Yesterday we went to play basketball at a park nearby. We had been playing for about an hour and before we left, I wanted to show my dad and brother this huge lake surrounded by mansions. It was right by where we were playing, so we walked up the hill to take a look.

It was over 100 degrees outside so we took a quick look around and then decided it was time to go. I was dying of thirst, literally. My brother, Sam, had brought his basketball to the top of the hill and the natural male reaction is to try and make the ball in the hoop from near impossible distances, right?

Sooo he tosses it. It came up about 10 feet too short and I thought we were done. Then he told Chris to toss him back up the ball because he thought he could actually have a chance at making it since he didn't really try the first time and actually came pretty close.

Then this happened...

AND WE WERE FREAKING OUT!!! By Chris's yell you can tell we were all shocked. I am on the hill over there and I just about fell to the ground in disbelief. We. were. shocked.

A family was standing close by watching and when we started yelling they came over and asked if it went in. We showed them the video and the dad said, "That is going to go viral!" Wishful thinking!

I tried my hand at tweeting it out (@MrsSarahTucker), but beyond that, this shot made our day. Possibly made my brother's year! He is an awesome athlete and never in a million years did he think he could pull that shot off. In only two tries! I am still giggling thinking about how everything had to be so perfectly aligned for that to happen!

Now that I have that out of the way, we can back it up to Friday night where we went to our favorite diner on the square, Spoons!

Warning now, there are a lot of food pictures because all we did was eat and play sports...allll weekend long!

No meal is complete without a trip to Braum's Ice Cream!

Saturday my brother and I woke up and headed to the gym. Him and I are slightly really competitive and so I made him to go my strength and conditioning class with me since he was talking a lot of smack. Let's just leave it at he hasn't been able to walk right since the workout!

After working out it was only natural to stop by The Donut Kitchen on the way home.

After breakfast I weed-eated the lawn and worked on some projects I have going on. My brother made a comment that I was looking "pearly" so I took that as a hint to get some sun.

Don't be fooled. The top half of my body is being shaded in the garage. And yes, I did burn from being out there a whopping 15 whole minutes.

Saturday night we headed to our favorite spot, the ballpark! The Frisco Rough Riders field is only about 15 minutes from our house and we get tickets from Chris's company all the time, so it has become our summer date night spot. The seats are all you can eat, so sometimes we go up there just for dinner and to watch a couple innings of the game. #guilty

I managed to take advantage of the free food by consuming a pulled chicken sandwich, potato chips, nachos, peanuts, and three RC's. I just want to make sure Chris's company is getting their money's worth :)

Saturday night we rented Non-Stop and it wasn't too bad. A little on the over-dramatic side, but my chick flicks still rule.

Sunday we slept in and my dad made his famous breakfast. Potatoes fried in Crisco, cheesy eggs, bacon, and biscuits. I told you we ate a lot this weekend!

Sunday's breakfast put us in a food coma until we regained our strength and headed up to the basketball court...and made history with my brother's shot! Okay, just kidding, but it was a really good time!

All in all this has been one of the best weekends we have had in a long time! It has been so fun and full of laughter. Chris and my brother have thrown the football for countless hours, they have ganged up on me just as they always do, and we have laughed, and laughed, and laughed some more.

How was your weekend!?
