I was on ESPN

My brother, Sam, and his friends Skylar, TJ, and Colton
I went with my brother and his friends to the Rangers game on Monday. I have been to more Rangers games than I can count, but I can honestly say this was the most exciting one I have ever been to.

Usually when Chris and I go to Rangers games we sit in his Dad's company's seats which are right behind the dugout. Don't get me wrong, those seats are leee-git, but being in home run alley is so much more exciting!

First off, I was mad at the boys for not bringing their gloves. Colton, on of my brother's friends really wanted to bring his glove, but the other guys said, "Dude, that's for kids..." Basically they all thought they were man enough to catch the ball with their bare hands.

Well, karma is a you-know-what because they missed three home run balls (one during batting practice, and two during the game) because they didn't have their gloves. The home run hit to tie the game in the 9th inning HIT MY BROTHER IN THE HANDS! If he would have had his glove he would have caught it.

To say it was an exciting game is an understatement. (And I have probably lost all the non-baseball fans at this point...)

The video below is of the first home run ball hit during the game that my brother's friend Skylar went to catch...and the ESPN reporters made fun of him!

Hil-lar-eee-us!

ESPN reporter #1: "That guy really misjudged that ball..."
ESPN reporter #2: "That's why he is in the stands and not on the field!"

The bottom arrow is point to me. I was blocking the guy to my right from running me over. I was not letting him catch any balls hit in that area! The other three arrows are of my brother's friends. The one on the far right is Sklar...the guy in the video...mid-jump. I am still giggling about that.

And look at me go attempting to catch the game tie-ing home run! If only I would have brought my glove...shame on me.

If you ever go to a Rangers game, or any baseball game for that matter, I highly recommend sitting in home run alley. It is so fun wrestling for the home run balls...and bring your glove!

Happy Thursday!

WIWW: Black & White Beauty + Link Up!

I have been MIA this week, and for good reason! My little brother and his friends are in town. Blogging has taken a back seat to playing host for four 18 year old boys who know how to make a house look like the victim of a tornado in no time. Not to mention the smell. Boys stink. Period.

So far their trip here in Dallas has included making it on ESPN twice at the Rangers game for embarrassingly missing two home-run balls. More on that, along with pictures, later this week.

Not to mention our weekend being jam-packed. I will do a weekend recap (because you care, right?) later, but for now I am going to allow you to swoon over this dress I wore to a wedding Friday night.

I know I say each of my dresses are perfect, but this one is seriously perfect. It holds a tight spot right next to this beauty. Black and white perfection.

Being a super-tall 5'3" (total sarcasm) I really enjoy dresses that make me feel 'model' tall. This dress makes me feel that way. I felt very model-esque when the button popped off the back right after the ceremony and we had to tuck the back of the dress in my bra. A real model would have done the same. It actually worked out for the better when it came time to bust a move on the dance floor. More upper-body flailing room, if you know what I mean.

By the way, my Mom bought me this dress, along with the mint one and this one, a couple months back. If you don't remember, we got the dresses at a booth at market days, so, sadly, I have no idea where it is from.

Randoms:

- I PROMISE I have not forgot to do a blogiversary vlog. I have all your wonderful questions typed and ready to go...now I just have to find an hour I am not looking like death to video it. Between helping my friend paint her nursery to playing host for people, I will find time!

- This weekend I am headed to Austin to the TX Style Council's Summer School where I will finally get to meet the sweet Shanna in person! To say I am excited is an understatement!!

- I bought two new Yankee Candles for fall. It made my day.

- Last night I had a dream where Chris told me he wasn't really in love with me and I woke up crying in my sleep. I blame it on the Bachelorette...because right before I went to sleep I watched Brooks crush Des's heart. Stupid Brooks.

Now for the link up!!

RULES
- All I ask is you link back to my blog!!
(some people have been forgetting this lately and, to be honest, it is really disrespectful. 7 out of 21 bloggers linked back to me last week. I will be deleting your post if you don't respect my one and only rule. Thanks!)
- Write about something fashion related (accessories, shoes, modeling, make-up, etc.)

Optional: Use #TuckerUp on IG for me to view your outfits! I would love to feature other bloggers for WIWW, so show me those outfits and you might be the chosen one :)

The Creepiest Thing You Have Ever Seen

These weird alien grasshoppers were on one (just one) of my plants. I was standing outside watering and watching the dogs play when it looked like some of my flowers were moving.

Ca-ray-zeee!

In other news...

Tonight we are headed to a wedding, tomorrow we have a family BBQ, and Sunday we have lunch plans with Chris's family and then my brother and his friends come stay with us Sunday through Wednesday.

I am tired just thinking about all we have to do!

What are you up to this weekend?!

Happy Friday!

6 Things You Should Know About Me

As if I don't talk about myself enough, this post is solely dedicated to me, myself, and I. I will look away as you click to a more interesting post. Ready, go!

If you're still here then let's get started! Sweet Shio tagged me to write a post based 12 questions she posted. I get to pick six to answer! Here are her 12 questions:

1.// What is one of your silly quirks? Or something silly that you get excited about.
2.// Favorite movie, song, or tv show?
3.// Any funny stories to share that has happened recently?
4.// Tell us something we don't know about you.
5.// What's your favorite beauty secret or product?
6.// What's your favorite or go-to outfit? (pics please)
7.// What's a personal trial you had to overcome?
8.// What's a current dream that you are hoping to achieve?
9.// What's the coolest thing you've made? (food, craft, anything)
10.// Who or what inspires you?
11.// Share one of your favorite pics. Tell us why it's your favorite
12.// What's your favorite part about marriage? Or what have you learned since becoming married?

I will be answering 2, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

2. Favorite movie, song, TV show?

Movie: Just Go With It. This is one of the two Adam Sandler movies I love. The other being Big Daddy. Chris and I could watch this movie over and over and die laughing every time! From the guy with too much plastic surgery laughing and his drink spilling out of his mouth, to Kiki and her accent....hilarious.

Song: Does anyone have one favorite song? Didn't think so.

TV Show: House Hunters. All day, errryday.

6. What's your favorite or go-to outfit?

Since this blog is all about honesty, I will throw this out there. My favorite/go-to outfit is workout clothes. Playing sports my whole life, and then playing softball in college, I am most comfortable in workout clothes. Literally, I am comfy, but in all honesty, athletic clothes are where I feel most like myself. Not like cute matchy, matchy workout clothes, or yoga pants. I am talkin' Nike shorts and a tee-shirt workout clothes. That is me 100%.

9. What's the coolest thing you've made?

That would have to be my starburst mirror or my headboard. You can read the tutorial on the mirror {here} and the tutorial on the headboard {here}.

10. Who or what inspires you?

This is a tough question because so many people inspire me in different ways.

My husband inspires me to be a better wife. I am constantly in awe of how in love I am with him. He is so inspiring and gives me the drive to be the best wife and partner I can be. His work ethic, love for me, and smile make me aware that God truly gave me a best friend in Chris.

My Dad inspires me because I truly think he knows me better than anyone. Chris has called him numerous times for advice on how to deal with me, ha! My Dad has always pushed me, supported me, watched me fail, and picked me back up. He has inspired me to do what I want to do, not what society says I have to do. He inspires me to be spontaneous and not care what anyone else thinks.

My Mom. That woman is more free than a bird. Where my Dad is grounded, my Mom always inspired me to think outside the box. Her and my Dad are the perfect team because she likes to dream big and my Dad is great for a reality check. She inspires me to live life to the fullest and love and praise God no matter what trials and tribulations I am facing.

Lastly, my brother. That kid is possibly the greatest kid in the world. I am inspired by him daily. I want to be an inspiration to him and be the best big sister I can be. He has exceeded my wildest dreams and I have to pinch myself to help me realize I was truly blessed with the most wonderful brother alive. From his smarts (salutatorian), to his athletic ability (point guard, quarterback, pitcher...), to his love for his family and God, I am in awe of this kid. To say he inspires me is an understatement.

11. Share one of your favorite pictures and tell us why it is your favorite?

I couldn't share just one. Call me a rule breaker. This picture of me and my Dad has been my ALL TIME favorite picture. It encompasses how smitten I was, and still am, with my Dad. I will forever be Daddy's little girl.

And this picture below. I still get giddy thinking about the moment this man dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife. The sheer happiness I felt in that moment can never be matched. It is that moment every girl dreams of and it couldn't have been more perfect. You can read our amazing proposal story {here}.

12. What is your favorite part about marriage? What is one thing you have learned?

Getting to live everyday with your best friend is by far my favorite part. Of course I love Chris on a more intimate level (TMI?), but more importantly he makes me laugh and smile constantly. Whether it be him running around the house acting like a child playing with the puppies, or him doing some ridiculous dance, having him in my life, and getting to live with him, brings me such joy. We know everything about each other and are each other's number one priority. Happy wife, happy life :)

I have learned so much! We have learned that, although we adore our families, our relationship and each other comes first. I am his number one priority and he is mine, and that comes before anyone else. When we said our vows we promised to become one, and let me tell you, that isn't always easy. But through the trials we have grown and become closer each and every day.

Thanks, Shio, for tagging me!

Have a great Thursday!

WIWW: BIG news // white pants // coral top + link up!

I bought this top two years ago. I got it at LOFT in an attempt to expand my 'professional' wardrobe. I have paired it with beige slacks, nude pumps, and a turquoise blazer to give it a 'hip', professional vibe. But you can also see me sportin' this beauty on a summer day with white jeans and wedges. Too hot for jeans? Switch to shorts and you're ready to rock and roll.

Since I have issues with necklaces (due to being really claustrophobic. weirdo, I know), I love how no necklace is needed with this top. The sequin trim adds just enough sparkle to dress it up, but it is not too overpowering.

And these jeans. Oh my word are they perfect. They are KUT, and fit perfectly. Of course they are sorta stretchy (the only way to go with jeans...) which makes them double perfect. I wish Texas had some 'cool' summer nights so I could wear these pants, but I will have to wait until after labor day (gasp!) to really work these into my wardrobe. If I wore them now, they would melt right onto my body and we would be calling EMS to come cut them off. I'm not worried about me, I just don't want to ruin the pants!

If you are wondering how to replicate my top knot click {here}.

Now for my BIG news!

If you follow me on instagram (@sarahtuckerup) then you already heard, but....I am OFFICIALLY a 5th grade teacher!! I signed on the dotted line yesterday! I have got SO much support since {this} post and I couldn't be more grateful for all that God has given me these last couple months and I cannot wait to start teaching!

Now for some randoms:

- Chris is in Boston and I am not. #notjealous #okaytotallyjealous

- We are going to a wedding this weekend and, let's be honest, who doesn't love weddings?

- I have been eating a second dinner for the last couple weeks. Around 10pm every. single. night. my stomach start rumbling like I haven't eaten in hours. I lay in bed praying to just fall back asleep but I can't! I then get up and eat a banana or bowl of cereal, and once I have a full belly, I crawl back in bed only to be woken up by a growling stomach the next morning. Not sure what my deal is. Chris freaked me out by saying I have a tape worm. Ewwww. What a sicko :)

- See the picture above? See how it kind of looks like I have short hair? I have really been dying for a hair change, but I am not sure I want to get rid of my long hair...thoughts?

- My brother and three of his friends are coming to stay with us this weekend. Four 18 year old boys + Chris...who has an extra room I can come stay in?? ;)

Now for the link up!!

** Update...sooo I searched #TuckerUp on IG and all that came up was a girl...and her horse (tons of pictures of this girl and her horse). So, since no one wants to be featured (cough, cough), I will take matters into my own hands and pick someone on my own! :) **

Today's pick is someone who is a faithful WIWW blogger and quickly becoming a real life bff...

Everyone meet Brianne from Being Bracco!

Moral of the story... hashtag this ---> #TuckerUp and you could be featured...if not, I will keep randomly selecting someone!

The Egg McKnockOff

Who doesn't love a good Egg McMuffin??

Growing up my Mom would make my brother and I homemade Egg McMuffins for breakfast all the time. I love them because they fill you up and are so easy to make. Cereal, although delicious, doesn't fill me up. And I am not a huge fan of eggs by themselves, so this is my go-to breakfast.

What you need:
- 1 English muffin
- 1 egg
- deli ham
-cheese

I have this silver dollar pancake pan and it should be called the "perfect Egg McMuffin making pan."

I crack my egg in the center circle and heat my ham and English muffin in the other circles. Once my egg is cooked on one side, I flip it over until the yolk is hard.

Plop it all, including a slice of your favorite cheese, on the English muffin, and you have yourself a quick and delicious breakfast without the added sodium from the McDonald's version!

Enjoy!

A new phone, friends, and organization

Our weekend was pretty low-key. We were busy, but not the normal pull-you-hair-out-go-go-go.
Friday night was spent with this pretty and her husband. They had us over for dinner and good conversation.
Saturday was spent doing things around the house. Does laundry ever end? Saturday afternoon Chris finally decided he was ready to upgrade his phone. Let's just say his other phone was so old they had to take out his SIM card and put it in a newer phone in order to transfer his contacts. He is now a not-so-proud member of the iPhone club. He hates that he succumbed to society, but I think he is secretly loving his new gadget. Chris has always be adamant about not doing what everyone else does, and the iPhone, to him, is the one that kept him from being just like everyone else. Sorry honey.

Saturday evening we went to a baby shower/cookout. The party was on the outskirts of the Dallas suburbs, so it was nice to get out of the city and see some trees and land for a change.

Sunday morning at 5:30am Chris got a call and he was needed at the plant. He is an assistant plant manager, so no matter when his phone rings, he holds his breath and answers. Unfortunately he had to go in from 7am-7pm. With him out of the house I was able to be extremely productive! I went through our filing system and cleaned out unnecessary papers, grocery shopped, cleaned out the fridge, made chicken spaghetti, and took updated house pictures of the blog.

Now it is Monday and I still have the cleaning bug. I think I will tackle under the sinks and closets!

Have a great day!

WIWW: That Mint Dress, Random Talk + Link Up!

This mint dress is perfect. The color, the detail, the fit - perfect, perfect, perfect!
My Mom bought this dress for me a couple weeks back when I went home for my brother's graduation. We found it at a little market days that was set up at our courthouse square. I am excited to pair it with tights, boots, and a cardigan for fall.
At our friend's wedding last weekend.
Random Talk:
- Tonight, my mind is blank. I have nothing funny to write, no cool stories, and frankly, if I didn't host this link up, I would have skipped today's post.
- Since I passed my test last week I have been decorating my friend's nursery. Baby fever. And remember how I said our neighbors have a newborn? Who is so adorable? Baby fever. Oh, and Chris's best friend called and told us him and his wife are expecting. (That kinda gave Chris) Baby Fever. It is in the water people!
- I woke up to a nice surprise of the cleaning ladies coming today. I was really dreading tackling this monster of a dirty house, but my sweet husband scheduled them to come...and forgot to tell me. Nothing better than the smell of a freshly cleaned house. I went and decorated my friend's nursery while they cleaned...I feel weird being home when they are cleaning because I feel like I want to help.
- I had a really great random thought, but it slipped my mind.
- Tomorrow I complete the final stage in my hiring process to become a teacher! I am still in such shock as to how blessed I am things are working out how they are. You know, I can tell when the Devil is really trying to bring me down...(and now my mind decides to kick in with a short story)...
I have been on such high since passing my test. Well actually since getting offered a teaching job and getting laid off. I won't go into detail, but the firm I used to work for is so ethically corrupt and such a negative place. Yesterday I had slight (indirect) contact with them. Just being associated with them really got under my skin. I don't stand for anything they believe in and I thank God everyday I was taken out of that unhealthy environment. I know this is the Devil trying to bring me down. After a couple episodes of House Hunters I was back to my normal self, but it is so eye opening how blessed I am to be where I am at and am truly following my dreams.
Now for the fun stuff:

If I Won The Lottery

I would probably pee my pants. After I cleaned that up I would probably start crying and tell Chris that I can finally get my Range Rover. He would probably laugh and say okay, as long as he gets his dream truck.

Aside from ridiculously priced cars, I would make sure everyone in my family was financially set. From retirements to college to paying off any loans...I would make sure finances were no longer a stress on anyone.

After everyone was clear of any debt I would start to invest. I want my millions to make millions so I don't have to work, so being smart with my money would be key.

Chris and I would buy land, lots and lots of land, build our dream home (all I really care about is a pool), and probably build two other homes for our parents on the land so we can all be one big happy family. I would make sure Chris got his four-wheelers and "man-toys."

We would definitely buy a house in the mountains. Skiing is our favorite thing to do, so that is a must. And one in NYC, because that is a dream of mine.

I would take the family on trips...wherever we wanted to go.

Oh, and I would start poppin' out some kiddos! And probably adopt some as well. Adopt real kids and more puppies, too!

I would also get unlimited massages and probably hire a chef. Although I love to cook, sometimes I want to spend that time with my husband instead of in the kitchen. I would rather someone else do it.

Chris claims he would keep working...until he sees me jetting away on mini-vacays all the time...then he would probably change his mind.

And even if I don't win the lottery, which I assume I never will, it is always nice to dream. Although I am blessed with a great house, a car that gets me where I need to go, and a wonderful husband and family, it sure would be fun to never have to worry about money!
