Slowly, but surely this little house of ours is coming along. We just hit the one year mark in this house and I feel like we have made some great progress. In our first house I felt like we made progress, but then I regretted a decor decision I made. We are taking our time with this house to ensure we make it exactly how we want...at least until I change my mind:)
So far we have:
- Updated the floors
- Painted the red wall to match the other walls
- Hung curtains
- Bought a rug
- Bought a couch
- Bought new throw pillows
To-do list:
- Probably get new curtains. I want something lighter and more airy.
- New coffee table
- Buy/DIY a huge clock for over the mantel
- Buy a media cabinet (something like this). We like the entertainment center we have, but when we have kids they will be messing with everything we have on the shelves, etc. Plus, we want a bigger TV and we can't fit one in the space provided.
Source list:
Couch - Ashley Furniture
Rug - Home Depot
Entertainment Center - Ikea
White Frames - Ikea
Console Table - Ashley Furniture
Art on Mantel - Minted
Glass Vase and Flowers - World Market
Candlesticks - Flea Market
Clock - Gift
Mirror above TV - Homegoods
Throw Pillows - Homegoods
This is a picture to remind you how the house looked when we were looking to buy it:
Love your living room, girl! If you're wanting light and airy curtains, check out the Farrah curtain panels at Target. We changed out our dark brown living room curtains for those and for less than $20 a piece, I couldn't say no. & I love your floors! That's our next project. I've looked at so many floor options in the last few weeks that I could pull my hair out. But I'm really liking yours. Could you tell me where you got them and what color they are?!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've seen those panels at Target, but they aren't long enough :( I like my curtains to go from the ceiling to the floor and those just are too short. I was bummed because they have such cute patterns and fabric!
DeleteWe got our floors at Home Depot and they are Country Oak Sundown (laminate). Let me know if you have any other questions!
I'm in love with the painting on your fireplace and the pictures behind your entry table. BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay!!!
DeleteI love the pictures! Such pretty colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Everything is finally coming along!
DeleteI cannot believe it's already been a year!! Where has the time gone??? Looking good lady....I wish my house was as clean and in order!! We are a hot mess over here!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI know...a year! Whaaaa?! Don't worry...ours was a hot mess right before I took these pictures. Then about 20 minutes later Chris and the dogs decided to have a wrestling match and it looked back to its normal, messy self :)
DeleteLooks so good! We have the same color style: neutrals with pops of Earth tones (blues, greens, etc). And I love the six white frames in a grid. Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I am so tempted by color, but I also love the neutrals!
DeleteYour floors are absolutely stunning! The wood has so much texture and character! I LOVE your living room :)
