Kitchen Reveal || New Counters and Backsplash

I have been wanting to show off our kitchen for weeks now, but haven't been able to keep it clean or find time it when there is enough light. Finally, last Sunday I was able to capture our new counters and back-splash. We still have some minor touch-ups, but I couldn't wait any longer!

Before I show you, here is a look back at the kitchen when we first bought the house:

After I stained the cabinets:

Reveal:

I can't wait to change out the decor above the cabinets and stage it a little better, but I had to take advantage of the light!

The biggest change is that we got rid of the bar behind the sink. Now it is an overhang that people can sit at to eat and it makes the space feel even more open than before.

We are in the works on getting an island made, so we still have some changes we want to make, but this is progress!

Happy Tuesday!

  3. LOVE IT!!!!! That overhang does make a huge difference!! Can't wait to see how you style above your cabinets! We have a lot of space above our cabinets and I've been searching for different ways to style that area. We have a big island in the middle of our kitchen and that is my cooking space while making dinner. I absolutely love it, and I love the storage under it. The back-splash is gorgeous!

  7. I'm a new follower, and at such a good time! My husband and I are pregnant and just bought our first home (no longer renting! Hooray!) and seeing your transformations are so inspiring! The whole kitchen looks great, and it's perfect for adding an island; I bet this feels good to get done before the baby arrives!

  8. I so wish I would have had Pinterest pre-granite because I totally would have dropped my bar down. The cabinet change was a huge improvement!! It looks so nice and an island is going to be the perfect finishing touch.
