A new challenge: #noshopfor60

If you've been around this blog the past year or so, you know that last year my New Year's Resolution was to not shop for the entire year!

You can read all about my adventures here, here, and here

Anyways, going into this year I felt confident that I had changed and wouldn't go back to my old ways. Well, just like any addiction, I could feel myself falling back into my old habits. I'd see something semi-cute on sale and somehow it made itself into my cart. I still stick to my "carry it in your cart for at least 15 minutes" rule and, thankfully, before I checked out, I realized that bright pink floral pants, although cute, were not me. I was buying them strictly because they were $9.98 on sale at Target. And because they are trendy...can't forget that part.

No I haven't gone crazy, and I really haven't spent much of my own money at all. I had birthday money that I ended up buying things for the house, but I did buy some dresses at Ross. Then I returned some of them and bought tennis shoes instead. #truth. Tennis shoes are me, and I know I will get tons of wear out of them.

So, going forward, my friend Brianne mentioned last week that she was going to do a #noshopfor60 challenge. I guess technically started it last week, but if anyone would like to join in on the money-saving fun, let me know! It helps to have others to confide in and I am planning on doing a 30 for 30 challenge soon as well! (30 articles of clothing for 30 days)

Sometimes we try things and we fail. In this case, I am catching myself before I head back down the bright and shiny path of being a shopaholic! Here's to shopping my closet ad remixing what I already have!

  1. Good for you! I definitely have been trying to limit myself - I had Christmas and birthday money that I kind of went crazy with, but I've been slowing down a lot. My husband and I give eachother a little fun money each month, and I've been trying to put it toward fun stuff like a monthly craft box subscription instead of buying clothes.
