A Weekend in the Country

Saturday morning Graham and I jetted down to my parent's house in the Texas Hill Country. It is a four hour drive, if you don't stop, and we haven't made this drive since January, so I was unsure of how G would do.

Normally he naps 2-3 hours in the morning, so I strategically left right around his morning nap time. Well, he napped a whopping 12 minutes! He was actually pretty happy the whole way, but once we hit Austin, I had to start tossing treats in the back to keep him quiet.

I love coming here because there isn't great cell service and we usually don't do much except swim and eat. Yesterday I got in a two hour nap, which never happens at home because there is always something to do. My brother and his wife are here as well, plus my aunt and uncle live down the (dirt) road, so there are plenty of people to keep an eye on G.

We miss Chris, but getting to unplug and breathe in some fresh air is really, really good for the soul! Pray for our trip back on Tuesday and that G naps for at least 13 minutes :)

I packed this outfit just in case we left the house. These shorts are a great "mom" length and have some stretch to them. And this shirt...it is so soft and flowy! We went to my favorite Mexican food place, so I had plenty of room to stuff my belly!

Also, I forgot my entire makeup bag, so I am really going all natural this trip!

Happy Monday!

  1. I love getting to disconnect and just enjoy the moments and take a nap and not feel guilty about it. Good luck, here's to 13 minutes!
