A Picture Says 1000 Words

This painting was my Meme and Granddad's. It hung as a statement piece in every house they owned. I love it and when I was asked if I wanted it, I gladly accpeted. I usually accept whatever my Meme was willing to give me ;)

Talking about anything that was my Meme's gets me choked up ("Come on Sarah...don't cry!!). A couple weeks ago when Chris and I went down to visit my family we were able to bring this gem back with us. And I knew just the place it was going to hang. It was going to be in a place for all to see, just as it was all these years at my Meme and Granddad's.

It hangs in a place for all to see. It makes me smile every time I look at it. Having meaning behind the things you hang in your home is something I love.

Eventually I would love a buffet below it where I can showcase other items that we have been given. Until then, that beauty will be the focus of the wall...and that is alright with me.

I can't wait to have Granddad over to show him where we hung it. We lucked out because it goes with our curtains and decor perfectly. I'll give Meme credit for that one. She sure knew how to decorate :)

  1. This is so sweet, we have the same sentiments. I often laugh at the statement "it's just stuff", b/c while in the scheme of things that may be true, it's normally the memories attached to a particular item that we value more than the item itself.

    1. You couldn't have said it better! I love having items around the house attached to memories. There's always a story to tell when someone asks where you got something!
