WIWW: Floral Pants + Link Up

floral pants // blouse // necklace // wedges
Sometimes I think I am not trendy enough to wear certain items. Like the crop top: that will forever be a no-go for me. But, but, these pants, well, I don't care how un-trendy I can be. These beauties had me at first sight.

After trying them on I was jumping for joy at the thought of being allowed in public in pants more comfortable than pajama bottoms. These will be perfect for all our upcoming vacations and those cool summer nights. Just kidding, Texas doesn't know what cool summer nights are.

Secondly, this flowy top is something I never would have thought to buy, but I sure am glad my friend told me, "you must buy that..." after trying it on. Those are the best friends, aren't they? The ones who influence you to spend way more than you originally thought you were going to. Ya, those friends are keepers.

Before I let you go/bore you to death, can we take a look at my long hair! It is finally getting out of the awkward stage and moving in to the long stage. After cutting those 10 inches off a year and a half ago, I wasn't sure I wanted long hair again, but now that it is back, I can officially say that the long hair is here to stay!

Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!

Platform Sandals and a linen dress

dress here //  shoes here and in gold here
Look at me, all dressed up and no place to go. Call me 'a la fashion blogger' but the only establishment that was graced with the presence of this cute outfit was Walmart. Stay classy, Sarah.

I am going to wear this on Friday (promise!), but obviously Friday after school I always look like the Grim Reaper, so I decided to force my husband into taking cheery pictures of me while the sun was shining and the kids haven't made my hair turn too gray, yet

This dress was super cheap at my favorite easy-breezy store. I can imagine me wearing it on the beach as a cover up or out to a casual dinner with my main squeeze. Either way, it is so versatile and cute!

Now, can we get to the star of the show? Hello platforms. Come to momma! I was iffy about these beauties at first, but they have officially won me over. They are teacher approved and age appropriate. Half the wedges I see, all I can think is, "Nope, not trying to find a date. Nope, not trying to be a stripper. Nope, not trying to break my ankle." (They also come in gold and brown here!)

Have you found any great finds lately?

Happy Tuesday!

A Sunburn and Ice cream

Monday, May 4, 2015

Isn't my in-laws backyard resort-like? I'm convincing them to put in a pool and then I am sure we would never leave!

This weekend was perfect. I feel like perfect weekends come with perfect weather. Right?

We started our with an engagement party Friday night. Our family friend got engaged and Chris's parents hosted the engagement party. It is always so fun celebrating engagements and nothing beats an excuse to get together and gorge on delicious food!

Even though Chris's parents only like about an hour away, we spent the night because the party started at 7:00pm and you know that means we stayed up wayyy passed our bedtime! There was no way we were driving home that late :)

Saturday we woke up and Chris and his dad set out to fix the a/c in my car, while I headed to Amber's house to delivery her a little something for her nursery. I am so excited for baby girl Massey to arrive!

Luckily my a/c fix was minor, but my car did have to go in the shop, so we were stuck (in a good way!) at Chris's parents a little longer. Since it was such a gorgeous day we decided to catch some rays. Some of us caught a few to many ray (two letter: m and e), oops!

There is this ice cream truck that comes through their neighborhood that has soft-serve ice cream. It is Rolls Royce of ice cream trucks. I opted for a chocolate sundae with nuts and Chris went for the swirl with sprinkles. He is obsessed with sprinkles in his ice cream. I think he will always be a kid at heart!

Saturday night we took our friends to our church and then went out for burgers. The message was on arrogance and humility....really really good!

Sunday I slept in until 10:00am. What is with me lately? I never sleep in that late, but I was out until I unwillingly forced myself out of bed. Who knows how long I could have slept if Chris wouldn't have tackled me and smothered me with shoogs.

After getting ready, I met up with one of my best friends from elementary school and we went to brunch and did a little shopping. Our cruise is coming up, so I got some cute things that I can't wait to show y'all!

The rest of the day was spent cleaning and being lazy. We are headed into the final weeks of school and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I can't believe my second year of teaching is almost done!

Happy Monday!
